Structural Competence and Equity-Minded Interprofessional Education: A Common Reading Approach to Learning November 5th, 2022 As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic and the Black Lives Matter movement, leaders in the field of interprofessional (IP) education have encouraged faculty to explore online adaptations to curriculum and examine strategies that enhance students’ structural competence. Structural competence is broadly defined as the ability to understand how oppression, governmental policies, and environmental inputs impact the health and well-being of an individual.
Improving Clinical Competence Through Simulated Training in Evidence-Based Practice for Stuttering: A Pilot Study November 4th, 2022 The purpose of this pilot study was to determine the effectiveness and acceptability of an initial module (1.1; active listening skills) of the Simulated Training in Evidence-Based Practice for Stuttering (STEPS) program, a theory-driven, multimodule, content and learning platform designed to advance knowledge and skills in working with culturally and linguistically diverse persons who stutter of all ages.

Medicare Payment Rates to Home Health Agencies Set to Decrease Beginning in 2023 November 7th, 2022 Medicare will begin reducing payments to home health agencies on January 1, 2023, to comply with federal budget neutrality requirements. The first reduction of 3.925% is expected to be part a series of annual payment reductions as home health agencies have exceeded Medicare’s payment projections each year since the implementation of a new payment system known as the Patient Driven Groupings Model (PDGM) in 2020.
